1 John 2:29-3:6
Psalm 97(98):1,3-6
John 1:29-34
When John the Baptist saw Jesus approaching, there was no obvious sign of his divinity. Jesus’s ministry was beginning, and he hadn’t yet gathered disciples. Yet, John knew to call Jesus the “Lamb of God” and “Son of God” because the Spirit prepared him. The Lord had told John how to recognize Jesus before his baptism: “I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me…”
Similarly, the Spirit prepares us in prayer for future blessings or trials. Jesus enters my life daily disguised as a friend, neighbor, or colleague. Recognizing and loving him requires being prepared by the Spirit.
May the Lord, help us realize who we are often today as we spend quiet moments praying.

And so, my dear friend, when are we really going to start?
