FRIDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF EASTER

After the elders had listened to the advice of Gamaliel. They instructed Peter and company to be flogged and not to preach again. This however had no effect as the apostles were happy to suffer humiliation for the sake of Christ. That encouraged them to preach all the more earnestly. Do you have a joyful and enthusiastic spark like that?

In today’s gospel, we see the result of a generous heart. A young boy offered his five loaves and two fish to Jesus for the feeding of the crowd. Jesus Christ shows what can happen to us if we allow our actions to be guided by love and a generous heart. He will lead us to the promised land of true justice and peace, comfort and joy.

A grateful and generous heart does not ask for anything in return and this is where the miracle converges, and under such circumstances, gratitude for what God has done for us changes what we have to enough! Yes, enough for everyone to have a share in the miracle.

Whenever, you share your gifts with others, especially with those who may not have nothing to offer you in return, Jesus Christ is telling you today that he will not only satisfy those you are helping to bring his “light, compassion and love”, but will also multiply your blessings. God makes what is impossible possible!

It is the heart that gives therefore, are you willing to “give” more to God and what are these challenges? May God fill us with gratitude & give us a generous heart that we may freely share with others what you has given to us. Amen. Stay blessed and have a nice weekend!
Peace!
