Michael Carrick Appointed Middlesbrough’s New Manager

Championship club, Middlesbrough FC has appointed Michael Carrick as its new manager.

This will be the 41-year-old’s first permanent coaching job after leaving Old Trafford

Carrick began working as a coach at Old Trafford for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho after his playing career ended in 2018.

He is now set to replace Chris Wilder, who was fired earlier this month.

Speaking on his appointment, Michael Carrick said, “I’m really excited to be here and to be part of a club with such a deep history and tradition.

“Middlesbrough was the first professional club I played for as a nine-year-old boy, so it’s a very special feeling to be back here as a head coach.”

He continued, “I’ll give everything to help develop the team and keep moving the club forward and make you the supporters proud.”

Carrick won five Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Europa League, two League Cups, and an FA Cup during his time as a player at United.
