PRAYER CONFORMS OUR CHOICES INTO DOING GOD’S WILL

Upon spending an entire night in prayer, Jesus selected his twelve apostles and proceeded with them to a level area where a multitude of disciples and people from various regions of Israel had gathered. In extending an invitation to become his disciples, Jesus requires no compensation or prior qualifications based on virtuous sentiments. Regardless of one’s emotional state, a willingness to follow is all that is sought. Those without belief or repentance are urged to come, as it is promised that these will be provided. He beckons all to come as they are and freely receive the gift of true discipleship, devoid of any monetary cost.

Just as the public drinking fountains on street corners stand as accessible resources for all, irrespective of their financial standing, Jesus offers himself freely to those in need. Similar to how passersby, regardless of their attire or social status, partake of the fountain’s water without apprehension, the availability of Jesus serves as the permit for all to freely receive from him. Jesus is the originator and perfecter of salvation for his people. It is imperative to ascertain thus, that he is the source of one’s salvation, founded on the Father’s choice, the Son’s atonement, and the Spirit’s revitalization.

Patience, as the companion and offspring of faith, prompts an unwavering wait when assured that it will not be in vain. It is both our obligation and privilege to diligently await the Lord in devotion, anticipation, and reliance throughout our lives.
Genuine faith endures trials and continues to withstand them. Recalling the extensive and gracious wait of God for each individual serves as a compelling reason not to falter in persevering in prayer and waiting.
