EMBRACE AND SHARE THE GOSPEL LIGHT

In today’s gospel passage, Jesus cautioned against concealing a lit lamp within a vessel or beneath a bed (Mark 4:21; Matthew 5:15; Luke 8:16; Luke 11:33). The rhetorical question posed pertains to the appropriate placement of a lamp: whether it should be obscured or positioned on a table to emit light and illuminate its surroundings. The symbolic significance lies in the imperative for individuals to embrace the radiance of Christ within their lives, allowing it to shine conspicuously. His teachings serve as a guiding force, imparting wisdom, serenity, and optimism.

Those who choose to obscure the light within darkness find themselves engulfed in a void, devoid of hope. Embracing obscurity creates a chasm between individuals and God, the embodiment of light. Nevertheless, God, aware of our inherent value, endeavors to unveil our transgressions, thereby removing barriers to entering His benevolent light. Ultimately, the decision rests within our own volition.

Diligent study of God’s word, not merely for rote memorization, but to glean from His boundless wisdom, comprehend, and apply the moral lessons of exemplary figures delineated within biblical narratives, expose individuals to an incandescent light impervious to extinguishment. Consequently, those within their proximity are similarly illuminated.

Let us also beseech the sharing of this faith, a stewardship replete with divine splendor and magnificence. It is incumbent upon us to heed God’s call to disseminate His message to others when the time is ripe. May we, in turn, convey God’s message of faith, hope, and love.
