Online, there are communities of mothers who exchange advice and offer guidance on various aspects of parenting, such as managing family life, cooking for different age groups, pregnancy tips, family recipes, home organization, “mompreneurship,” and more.
For new mothers, the journey can feel overwhelming, especially if they lack experienced mothers to rely on. Even with guidance from others, advice that worked for one person may not work for another, and trust can sometimes limit openness. This made early motherhood challenging and tiring in the past.
However, with social media, potential mothers can now access a wealth of information about motherhood before even beginning the journey. Numerous groups on social media offer safe spaces for sharing experiences and advice freely.
This raises important questions: Can we genuinely trust information sourced from social media? Is it wise to rely heavily on online resources for insights into motherhood?
Should we trust people we’ve never met face-to-face, and share personal issues about ourselves or our children with them? What are the positive and negative effects of social media on motherhood?
These questions will be explored in upcoming articles. Stay tuned!
