Numerous Hollywood stars display their most extravagant outfits at the annual Met Gala, which is regarded as one of the biggest nights in fashion.

Karl Lagerfeld was honored at the 2023 ceremony held on Monday in New York. German-born Lagerfeld, a well-known fashion designer who passed away in 2019, was in charge of the creative direction of Chanel, Fendi, and his own brand.

Nicole Kidman, who acted in Big Little Lies, donned a soft pink gown with beautiful feathers on the full skirt. She donned the exact same costume in the Baz Luhrmann-directed 2004 Chanel No5 fragrance commercial. Kidman kept her hair free and her makeup natural to contrast the extravagant garment.

One of the first famous people to arrive at the Met Gala 2023 was Dua Lipa. She wore a vintage Chanel gown from the brand’s couture collection as she co-hosted the event alongside actors Penelope Cruz and Michaela Coel, tennis player Roger Federer, and Vogue editor Dame Anna Wintour. The white dress featured a corseted bodice, black trim, and fringing at the hem and was made of Chanel’s characteristic tweed fabric. The style was first worn by German supermodel Claudia Schiffer in the early 1990s. A striking Tiffany diamond necklace, which Lipa claimed had never been seen before in public, completed the ensemble.

Rita Ora, a singer, and Taika Waititi, a director, were among those who showed up early on Monday for the occasion. Waititi wore a floor-length grey jacket, white pants, and a black flower on his lapel to match Ora’s dramatic black dress with sheer panels, floral accents, and a long train.

Penelope Cruz, the co-host of the show, donned a Chanel hooded white gown with a voluminous skirt, sweetheart neckline, and a lot of silver accents.

Model Emily Ratajkowski looked ethereal while donning a pale peach Tory Burch gown. The garment was covered in layers of tulle and exquisite linework. She appeared to be referencing Lagerfeld’s love of ribbons by wearing a black bow in her hair.
