A season of rest is coming

A season of rest is coming

The importance of rest season is often overlooked and incorporating them can be a test of our faithfulness. If it is the Lord’s will for us to find  REST in the upcoming month, it is absolutely necessary to make it a top priority.

Many people these days are always moving, like cars that don’t have breaks.  Some people’s productivity is suffering as a result of their heavy workload. Others require time to recover from pain or illness. Some people need solitude to heal emotional pain. Some are worn out. Tired of constantly having to relocate. Feeling tired of routine and exhausted from all the activity and visual stimulation.

Some homes that were once filled with happiness are now plagued by arguments and conflicts. Similarly, there are households that are overwhelmed with worry due to their inability to meet the growing demands of their family’s needs.

Beloved, Jesus is extending an invitation to those who are tired and overwhelmed, offering them rest. Rest is a precious gift that allows us to replenish and find solace after times of busyness, chaos, or distraction. Neglecting to pay attention to the Holy Spirit’s subtle reminders to take things slowly can have negative consequences on our well-being.

Jesus invited his disciples to find REST in a quiet place, away from the challenges of life and ministry. Mark 6:31b (NIV).  They were weary, tired, and worn out from the constant influx and departure of the crowds that trailed behind them. After feeding the five thousand, Jesus promptly instructed his disciples to board the boat and proceed to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd (Mark 6:45 NIV).  Jesus compelled them to depart (Mark 6:45) as He recognized their need for rest, regardless of whether they felt obliged to assist Him or desired to stay and socialize.

God desires for us to always find our rest in Him. However, there are times when God may guide us to purposefully step back from our regular activities and enter a period of rest. This rest could be in various forms, such as physical, mental, emotional, sensory, creative, social, or spiritual. It could even be as simple as taking a break from social media or refraining from consuming unhealthy content that causes us worry or distress.

Do not underestimate the importance of rest , as it contains valuable wisdom. To all those who feel trapped by the demands of their work, it is important to acknowledge the reality: you have become subservient to your job. Rest blossoms from the seed of labor. To revitalize the mind, heart, and body, it is necessary to find rest.

Stay blessed

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
