A Testimony Of Grace – Monday Motivation

I started business as a young lady, with little or no operating cost. I had just a staff working for me at the time. Whatever I earned was used in paying his salary, meet the needs of the office and a few of my personal needs. For me then, it was all about keeping body and soul together. I hardly could see any room for increase or vision to increase capacity.

Luckily, Job orders started rolling in. I was leery of employing additional hands that would help out. This was because I feared I may not have the sustained capacity to pay them at the end of the month. What if I don’t keep getting more orders in the days and months ahead? How then would I sustain or keep these additional hands? These to me were genuine and realistic considerations; but they were also the ropes trying to tie me to the same level for longer than necessary. So I followed my fearful thoughts. I chose to not hire more hands.
I became overwhelmed with work and I broke down with stress.

When you fail to create capacity, God’s abundance becomes a problem instead of a blessing.

If I had put my faith to work at that time, and without doubt got those extra hands to join me, the outcome would have been dramatically different. God would indeed have sustained us as He has continued to do from the moment I learnt my lessons.

The path we choose at such critical moments of choice is a reflection of how much of God’s word we have in us. This is because how much of God’s word we know will determine the level of our faith and trust in the abilities of God Almighty. But how did I come to know this? How did my perspective about life change? Years down the line, God brought a servant of His my way. He was a Father, Mentor and Friend. Yes, I call him friend because he was always willing to listen to my limited understanding of a number of issues without first killing them or labelling them as dead on arrival. He would then begin to make me see things from God’s own perspective and through the eyes of the word of God.

My hustle-living mentality was turned into FAITH-filled-living. It took just one encounter with a change agent divinely brought my way, one lesson learnt and correctly applied; and my life was completely turned around.

Today's Quote

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
