The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is back on track, with a renewed sense of unity and purpose. Former Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma, has hailed the recent strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja as a game-changer for the party. The meeting, chaired by APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, brought together key leaders, including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiru Onyejeocha.
Atuma praised the National Chairman’s leadership, saying, “There is no faction in Abia APC. We approached the National Chairman because of his proven capacity to lead with fairness and firmness. He acted swiftly, and today, we stand united.” The meeting yielded tangible outcomes, strengthening party structures and eliminating internal frictions.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda, affirmed that all issues affecting the Abia chapter had been resolved, expressing confidence in a rancour-free and exemplary party activity going forward. Atuma emphasized that unity is key to political victory, assuring that the APC in Abia State is ready to deliver meaningful progress.
The party’s focus is now on growth, cohesion, and sustained progress for Abia State. The era of internal rancour has given way to a renewed determination to build a formidable political structure anchored on collective responsibility. Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu has assured that the APC in Abia State remains a formidable force as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.
The Abia APC has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, with party leaders and stakeholders expressing their support for his Renewed Hope Agenda. The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda, has predicted a landslide victory for the APC in 2027, citing the party’s growing national acceptance and confidence among Nigerians.
