African Firm Releases ‘Soro Soke’ Movie To Mark #EndSARS First Anniversary

A new movie has been released to mark the first anniversary of the #ENDSARS protest in the country.  The new film, which is titled “Soro Soke” seeks to revive debates about #EndSARS and the circumstances that birthed the historic movement, the producer of the movie, a firm, African Broadway Inc, said.

The film narrates the horrific escapades of the Nigeria Police Force and its defunct brutal department, Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), that have been accused of decades of brutality and human rights abuses.
The #EndSARS movement which actually started a few years before the 2020 protest went into full swing from October 7, 2020 with demonstrations across major cities in the country.
The protests gained widespread acceptance both on the streets and on social media as celebrities added their voices in support of the movement.

On October 11, 2020, Adamu Mohammed, the former inspector-general of police, announced the disbandment of SARS, and on the same day, the protesters presented a five-point demand to the federal government.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
