All About School Life – Episode 5

Good day everyone, this is the 5th episode of ‘ALL ABOUT SCHOOL LIFE‘ and I will be gisting you about how I tried to keep up with the social grading standard of students in my school.

At FUTO, I stay off-campus in a one-bedroom apartment and it’s quite different from living in the school’s hostel.

All About School Life - Episode 5.

Unlike secondary school where the ‘big boys’ and ‘girls’ were either the handsome and beautiful ones or the neat and ‘fresh’ ones, here, the big boys are the rich ones and the big girls are the ones dating the rich boys.

You will also be seen as a big boy if you do regular ‘import’. Import is when a guy brings a girl to his lodge to stay for some days. It can also be vice verse but very rare. So if you are importing regularly, especially different girls, you will be highly admired and praised😂🤦🏾‍♂️.

So as a big boy, there are some things that you are expected to have. You must have a big bed or a bed stand, a sound system, a television, a neatly painted room or wallpaper designed, and a generator. If you have an air conditioner that’s an up for you.

Funny enough, girls like to see these things so it kind of puts pressure on you as a guy and your next worry will be how to furnish and design your room too.

So me naw, wey no get money follow dey reason how I wan take design my room. My brother and I started planning how to get ours and obviously, it had to be through our dad because we broke as f*ck 😂. So we lied to him (my dad) and got the money for a television and sound system. We also got money to repaint the room. Our room was formally coloured pink and blue 😂 so it really needed repainting. We painted it white and ash.

We didn’t need to buy a generator because my dad got a solar system for us which boosted our rank 😂😂😂.

Well, the truth is that there is no reasonable satisfaction in these things, except that it feeds your ego. We don’t even turn on our television or sound system again, it’s just a decoration in the room now.

We also got a Gotv decoder and we brought our PS3 console to school which was a very bad idea because people started flooding our room and you wouldn’t want to chase them away to avoid hearing things like, “BECAUSE HE HAS BOUGHT TV NOW WE WOULD NOT HEAR WORD.”

However, in the current times, G-boys are now the big boys, it is now about cars, spending lavishly, living in a ‘confam’ apartment (two or three bedrooms), clubbing, and carrying girls.

Well, as for me, I am no longer competing 😂, it is a very silly mentality, to be honest. Looking back after school, many people will laugh at these things.

Brothers and sisters, that’s it for this episode. Thank you for following up on these articles, you are much appreciated. Stay tuned for episode 6, only on AgnesIsika Blog.
