Angry Mob Sets Ablaze Two Suspected Money Ritualists In Front Of A Police Station

Two who were accused of being ritualists were burnt to death in Oja-Odan, Yewa North Local Government Area, Ogun State, after being found with a human head in their possession.

On Saturday, the suspects, Idowu Afolabi and Johnson Adebiyi were arrested and detained at the Oja Odan police station.

However, enraged youths are said to have broken into the police cell and dragged the two alleged ritualists out.

A youth, who only identified himself as Adeyemi, claimed that a big group of youths pulled the suspects to an open spot in front of the police station and set them on fire.

He said, “The youths caught the two men with a fresh human head. The police came to take the suspects away. But about an hour later, the youths, said the killers must be dealt with immediately. That was why they mobilised themselves in their hundreds to the police station in Oja Odan.

“The youths forced themselves into the police cell, dragged the suspects to an open space in front of the police station, and set them on fire,”

When contacted, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the State Police Public Relations Officer, said he will issue a statement about the event later.

Agnesisika blog earlier reported how a couple was detained with fresh human parts in the Leme district of Abeokuta, the state capital, on Saturday.

The couple, who live at 72 MKO Abiola Way in Leme, Abeokuta, was apprehended after a report was filed at Kemta Divisional Headquarters by one Chief Moshood Ogunwolu, the Baale of Leme Community, who stated that one Pastor Adisa Olarewaju, a co-tenant with the suspects, told him of unpleasant smells emanating from the suspects’ room.

Officers were dispatched and a search was carried out in their home where a plastic bucket of fresh human parts was found.

Also recall about two weeks ago, how four teenage boys, between 19 and 17 years, were jailed for chopping off a girl’s head for money rituals.
