Antonio Rudiger To leave Chelsea this summer, Agrees To A £5.4 Million Per Season Contract

Antonio Rudiger, a Chelsea defender, is ready to depart the London club after agreeing to a four-year deal with Juventus worth £5.4 million each season.

The 29-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, and the Blues are unable to extend it due to sanctions imposed by the UK government on club owner Roman Abramovich.

Antonio Rudiger was rumored to be contemplating a contract renewal at the club where he has established himself as a top talent since coming for £31 million from Roma in 2017.

The German international has reportedly indicated ‘yes’ to a move to Juventus, according to an Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Rudiger ‘will sign a four-year contract’ with the Serie A giants, according to the source, since he prefers them to both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, and he will earn roughly £5.4 million per season.

Last week, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel expressed concern that Abramovich’s sale of the club could affect contract discussions with players whose contracts will be expiring this summer.

Tuchel said, “The bottom line is maybe we can’t help it – it is what it is. You never know maybe it has a positive effect on the negotiations or maybe it has a negative effect.

“We cannot predict and I would like not to predict on scenarios because you just lose focus, but everyone has a different situation and feels different about it (the sale).

“I hope for the best outcome still, I think we have something to offer still. Chelsea is a strong club and will stay a strong club.

“Our owner decided to sell the club but he sells a strong, solid, organized club at the highest level.”
