The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially launched its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, signaling a concerted push towards the upcoming general elections. President Bola Tinubu has appointed Senator Abdulaziz Yari, the former governor of Zamfara State, as the Director-General, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has been named Secretary of the council.
A press release authored by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, outlined the full composition of the campaign team. The council will be headed directly by President Tinubu, with Vice President Kashim Shettima serving as Vice Chairman, alongside APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
Senator Yari’s appointment places him at the core of the campaign’s strategic operations, while Governor Uzodimma will oversee the secretariat’s activities as preparations accelerate for the 2027 race.
Supporting roles include APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru as Deputy Secretary and Hadiza Bala-Usman as Assistant Secretary. The campaign team is further strengthened by seasoned political figures such as former APC National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, veteran journalist Chief Segun Osoba, former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, ex-Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Adamu, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
Additionally, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have been appointed Deputy Directors-General for the Southern and Northern regions.
Congratulations to all the distinguished appointees.
