APC Closes National Secretariat To Honour Buhari

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared the temporary closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja to honor the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in a London hospital after a prolonged illness.

The party released the announcement through a statement issued on Monday, July 14, by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, noting that the directive was issued by the Acting National Chairman, Hon. Bukar Dalori.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR,” the statement read.

The closure is effective from Monday, July 14, with the Secretariat set to resume operations on Thursday, July 17, 2025.

The APC encouraged its members and supporters across the country to observe the mourning period with solemnity and deep contemplation. “We urge Party faithful to use this period of national mourning for quiet reflection and prayers for the repose of the soul of our departed leader,” the statement added.

President Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, was a founding member of the APC and remained a prominent figure in Nigerian politics after his tenure. His passing has sparked an outpouring of tributes, with many recalling his dedication to public service, personal discipline, and significant role in shaping the modern APC.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
