Apple To Block Your FaceTime Calls If It Detects Nud!ty

Apple’s forthcoming iOS 26 will unveil a contentious feature that automatically halts FaceTime calls if nud!ty is detected — even if it’s just someone beginning to disrobe.

This system, integrated into Apple’s enhanced “Communication Safety” tools, was first spotted by X user @iDeviceHelpus and covered by 9to5Mac. When activated, a notification appears stating:

“Audio and video are paused because you may be showing something sensitive. If you feel uncomfortable, you should end the call.”

Users are then given the choice to either continue the call or disconnect.

Initially, the feature was believed to apply solely to child accounts, aimed at safeguarding minors online. However, reports suggest it also triggers during FaceTime calls between adults — though it remains uncertain whether this is intentional or a bug.

Online responses have varied from humor to indignation. One Reddit user commented, “Long distance couples in shambles,” while another joked, “Well that’s one way to end a work meeting early.”

Apple clarifies that the detection process occurs entirely on-device using machine learning, ensuring the company does not access or retain any video content. “Because the photos and videos are analyzed on your child’s device, Apple doesn’t receive an indication that nudity was detected,” the company stated.

iOS 26 is currently in its beta phase and is slated for an official release this fall, likely in September, for iPhone 11 and newer models.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
