Arewa Youths Give Hint On Who Will Be Their Presidential Candidate For 2023

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), has identified the criteria that will determine which presidential candidate it will support in 2023.

Yerima Shettima, the national president of the AYCF, stated that the group would choose its presidential candidate based on qualifications and experience.

Shettima stated in an interview with DAILY POST that when choosing which presidential candidate to support, AYCF would not take region, zone, or tribe into consideration.

The AYCF national president said, “Arewa youths stand for competency, experience, and judging by the antecedents of the character we are likely going to work with.

“We have not made an official statement regarding who we will work with, but we will do that soon.

“Region and where a candidate comes from won’t count in this coming election; we won’t be favourable to the zone, tribe, or religion this time around.”

There are a total of 18 candidates running for the presidency in 2023.

The political parties hosting candidates include the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Accord Party, Action Alliance, African Action Congress, and African Democratic Congress.

Others are Action Democratic Party, All Progressives Grand Alliance, Allied People’s Movement, Action Peoples Party, Boot Party, New Nigeria Peoples Party, National Rescue Movement, Peoples Redemption Party, Social Democratic Party, Young Progressives Party, and Zenith Labour Party.
