Armed Men Storm Imo State Community, Kills Monarch And Two Others

A group of armed individuals reportedly broke into the Obudi Agwa community in Imo State’s Oguta LGA, killing the community’s monarch and his two guests on Monday morning.

According to Daily Post, the thugs entered the palace of Eze Assor, Udi of Obudi Agwa, the community’s keeper of culture and tradition, killed him and two others, and then fled.

The coordinator of Agwa Development Center, Hon. Obinna Jumbo, commented on the deplorable development and stated that the incident occurred this morning around 9 am.

He stated that the attackers arrived in two white hummer buses, three motorcycles, and one car.

The community leader, who was on the verge of crying, said that the remains of the traditional ruler and two other people who were attending meetings with the monarch had been put at the mortuary.

A second local source stated that the shooters are believed to have carried out the attack in two different places before escaping unopposed.

The sad incident shattered peace and tranquility in Agwa community and left residents trembling, according to the source, with the majority of prominent figures fleeing to town for fear of being killed by the rampaging unknown gunmen. He said it was too early to estimate the number of those killed.
