Arturo Vidal Criticises Ten Hag For Offloading Ronaldo

Arturo Vidal, a former Barcelona midfielder, has chastised Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag for his choice to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo left Old Trafford for Saudi Arabia in January after falling out of favour with new United manager Ten Hag and transferred to Al-Nassr.

The Portuguese was deemed surplus to requirements by the Dutchman and was released just months into the former Ajax manager’s spell at United.

Vidal disagrees with the decision and attacks Ten Hag during a rant on one of his streams.

The midfielder, who is presently playing for Athletico Paranaense in Brazil, was asked about Ronaldo’s standing and he defended the Portuguese forward while also criticizing Ten Hag.

“That coach came in badly,” Vidal said referring to ten Hag’s arrival in Manchester.

“How are you going to take out Cristiano Ronaldo? That’s how these guys are. He was the scorer and he took him out. The bald guys are very complicated.”

Vidal’s criticism of bald coaches originates from his tenure at Flamengo under coach Jorge Sampaoli, who handled the midfielder last season.

The 36-year-old won the Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Cup during his first season with the club, although he only appeared in 21 games and was frequently neglected by Argentine coach Sampaoli.

On his Athletico Paranaense debut, Arturo Vidal called Sampaoli a “loser” and accused him of not valuing his players.
