Asake Reacts To Stampede At His Concert In London

Nigerian Musician, Asake has commented on the stampede at his London concert, sympathising with those who were injured last night and experienced any form of discomfort.

The artist released a statement in response to a stampede that occurred yesterday, December 15th, at his London concert, which left 4 people gravely injured.

Emergency personnel reportedly arrived at the O2 Academy on Stockwell Road as soon as there were reports of crowd unrest on Thursday night, at 9.35 p.m.

Some fans who attempted to force their way into the event without tickets are said to have sparked the rush, according to the reports.

Asake expressed his sympathies for those hurt yesterday night, wishing them a quick recovery in a statement posted to his Instagram story.

The artist said that the venue management has not given him a complete explanation of what caused the commotion at The Brixton Academy’s entry.

However, Asake disclosed that he is in the process of reaching out to those who were affected by the stampede.

He wrote; “My heart is with those who were injured last night and caused any form of discomfort.

“I pray you get well soonest. I am also in the process of reaching out to individuals. I still do not have the full brief from the venue management themselves as to what led to the disruption at the entrance of The Brixton Academy, but we are thankful that all was peaceful in the end.

“For my people who enjoyed the beginning of my performance, I am so sorry that it was cut short. Thank you for your unbelievable love London.

“I love you too much! I’m looking forward to seeing you again in a bit.”

Asake is a Nigerian musician signed under the YBNL record label, owned by popular artist, Olamide.

The musician came into the limelight in February 2022 after releasing his hit song “Omo Ope”.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
