Asisat Oshoala leaves Barca For Soccer League Club Bay FC

Barcelona has announced that they have reached an agreement with National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Bay FC for the transfer of Asisat Oshoala, whose contract expires on June 30, 2024.

Barcelona announced Oshoala’s exit late Thursday night.

Prior to her departure, Oshoala scored 117 goals in 162 games for the Spanish women’s team.

Her goals make her the fourth-highest scorer in Barcelona’s women’s history.

The Lagos-born striker joined the club during the winter transfer window in January 2019, and by the middle of the season had appeared in 11 games, scoring eight goals.

In her first full season, 2019/20, she had 30 goals in 32 games.

She played 37 games in 2020/21 and scored 22 goals, while in 2021/22, she played 28 games and surpassed the twenty-goal mark with 22.

Asisat Oshoala appeared in 40 games for the 2022/23 season, scoring 27 goals.

This season, the reigning CAF Women’s Player of the Year has eight goals in 14 matches.

She leaves Barcelona with 14 championships, including two Champions Leagues, four League titles, three Queen’s Cups, four Spanish Super Cups, and a Catalan Cup.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
