Bambam On Avoiding Deeply Spiritual Roles

Nigerian actress Bambam shares her reasons for hesitating to take on deeply spiritual roles, opening up about her personal preferences and the challenges she faces when portraying such characters.

She said: “I am a very sensitive actor. I try to avoid deeply spiritual films, especially when I’m not sure or spiritually ready for them.”

Speaking about her role as Chioma in Love in Every Word, she said she first tried to understand the character’s inner life before adding her own touch to make the performance real.

She said: “When you get a script, you step into the role of that character. I got to understand Chioma’s personality and added a part of me to make her real. Acting is about understanding where your character is coming from so you can react as they would.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
