Bandits Attack Buhari’s State, Kidnaps Several Residents

Unknown figures of residents were kidnapped by bandits on Thursday in Katsina State, at Rahamawa and Shagari estates.

According to a source who spoke to DAILY POST, the attackers attacked during the daytime while the victims were strolling to where they had packed their motorcycles.

The bandits came at 6:15 am on Thursday, and the locals spotted them roaming around with their hostages, who they recognized as residents from the Rahamawa neighbourhood of Katsina.

“Our people said they have seen about 13 to 15 attackers moving in a haste with the people they kidnapped,” the source said.

He highlighted that he was unsure whether or not all of the captives had been liberated as he recounted a gunfight with security personnel to disperse the bandits and free the victims.

In order to save the victims, he stated that security personnel were pursuing the perpetrators vigorously.

He claimed that they were aware of the bandits’ intended route and set up an ambush along it, with other security personnel.

However, to their greatest surprise, they were unable to find where the bandits had hidden.

The bandits struck communities near Shagari Low-cost when the security personnel left the area at 4 am, he said, adding that a group of soldiers, police, and vigilantes are pursuing them, along with a helicopter from the Nigerian Air Force.

According to the source, “on 22nd June 2022, at about 2:30 a.m, terrorists, armed with AK-47 rifles attacked the house of one Abdullahi Esha of Sokoto Rima Quarters, Katsina and kidnapped his 18-year-old daughter.”

The command’s patrol teams and anti-kidnapping unit were sent right away to the region to look for the bandits, he said, adding that they engaged the terrorists in a violent gunfight that forced them to run and abandon their wicked mission.
