Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s son, Bashir El-Rufai, has declared the dissolution of his marriage to Halima Kazaure.
During the Eid celebrations, Bashir revealed this on X while answering comments made by users regarding a post about another woman.
He added that he is divorced and that the woman is now his fiancée.
“I divorced my first wife, I have no time for GenZ wahala. The difference is clear. I had no clue Nupe women treat their husbands like emperors. Loving it,” he wrote.
Marriage is often touted as a sacred institution, a lifelong commitment between two individuals who vow to love and cherish each other through thick and thin. But why are we seeing so many people enter into marriage with a sense of urgency, only to exit it just as quickly? Is it that the love they once shared somehow withers away overnight? Or was it never truly there to begin with?
Perhaps we’re confusing infatuation with love, mistaking the thrill of a new relationship for the depth and complexity of a lifelong partnership. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that something is amiss, and we need to take a step back to re-evaluate what marriage truly means to us.
As we navigate the complexities of modern relationships, let us remember that marriage is a choice that requires patience, sacrifice, and commitment – and that true love is worth the wait.
