Bollywood Mega-stars Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor Wed In An Intimate Mumbai Ceremony

Bollywood’s two biggest stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot intimately in Mumbai on Thursday. Some of the great heroes of Indian cinema were present on the occasion.

In one of the most anticipated celebrity weddings in India in recent years, The Bollywood power couple cut the cake and raised a toast for their wedding at the Bastu building, where they both own separate apartments. The couple wore clothes designed by Sabyasachi, a family name in India.

The pre-wedding ceremony began on Wednesday at Kapoor’s Pali Hill home with a traditional Hindu ritual called Ganesh Puja. Homes and other properties owned by Kapoor, including RK Studios, were decorated with warm lights for the wedding celebrations. There was also a mehndi ceremony, as was the Punjabi wedding ritual.

The timing of the wedding was shrouded in secrecy, with no celebrities revealing their dates. But speculation about the impending marriage has been rife since Tuesday, when pictures of Kapoor’s Mumbai home adorned with lights appeared on social media, according to CNN-approved News-18.

Kapoor and Bhatt are both among the best actors in Bollywood, followed by the eighth – highest-ranking female – in Forbes India’s latest Celebrity 100 list, which put their combined earnings at around $ 14 million.

Both stars were born into a family of prominent actors and directors. Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actor Soni Rajdan, while Kapoor is the grandson of Hindi film legend Raj Kapoor and the son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.

Kapoor’s cousins, actress Kareena and Karisma Kapoor, and filmmaker Karan Johar, who referred to Bhatt as his daughter, were among those photographing the wedding. Kareena and Karisma wore a sari designed by sister Manish Malhotra.
