In a recent development, President Bola Tinubu has accepted the resignation letter of Minister of Science and Technology, Geoffrey Nnaji, amid ongoing forgery allegations.
The decision comes amidst heightened scrutiny and calls for accountability within the government, as Nnaji steps down from his position to address the serious accusations levied against him.
After joining the federal cabinet in August 2023, Nnaji thanked the President for the opportunity to serve and submitted his letter of resignation on Tuesday.
In the letter, the former minister claimed that a “campaign of blackmail” hatched by political rivals had impacted his decision to resign.
But he did praise President Tinubu for the faith and confidence that people had in him during his time in office. President Tinubu responded to the news by praising Nnaji for his national service and wishing him luck in his future undertakings.
