Bruno Fernandes Receives New Shirt Number At Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes will now fill the No.8 shirt left vacant by his former teammate Juan Mata at Manchester United.

The Portugal international will be switching from number 18 for the 2022/23 season and will wear his new jersey at Tour 2022.

He had already joked with Mata last season, that the Spaniard’s new contract had delayed him acquiring his favourite number.

However, Bruno stated that he has always desired to play no.8, a position he has held with Udinese, Sporting, and the national team.

Fernandes was born on September 8, 1994, and has a number eight tattoo on his arm. The attacking midfielder signed a new long-term contract with the Reds in April and is looking forward to working with new manager Erik ten Hag.

He will play in the first match of the tour, against Liverpool, next Tuesday in Bangkok, with all pre-season games shown live on MUTV.

Also, it has been revealed that new recruit Tyrell Malacia will wear the number 12 shirt for Manchester United.

The 22-year-old joined the club from Feyenoord on Tuesday, and he will now wear the number for the first time as a Red during Tour 2022.
