Bulletproof Charm Fails As Man Shots His Friend Dead

A man simply identified as Bode is purportedly on the run after murdering Tunde Akinmoyewa in a failed bulletproof charm testing with a Dane rifle at Laoso Village in the state’s Ondo West Local Government Area.

According to Punch, the 27-year-old ex-convict was shot dead by a friend last Tuesday while testing a new locally-made rifle.

The source said: “To test the efficacy of the charms, Tunde asked his friend (Bode) to shoot him first. After Tunde’s friend picked up the guy and shot him (Tunde), suddenly, he fell and died on the spot.

“Having seen what had happened, the suspect took to his heels before the neighbours arrived at the scene and has not been arrested.”

The victim was taken to the village’s nearest hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Funmilayo Odunlami, a spokesperson for the Ondo police command, verified the occurrence and stated that an inquiry has been initiated.

Odunlami said: “One Tunde Akinmoyewa, an ex-convict who is also a cultist, while testing a locally made gun believed to be newly procured was accidentally shot by one of his boys named Bode, surname yet unknown, as a result of which he died while being taken to hospital for medical attention.

“Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue while efforts are in top gear to arrest the suspect.”
