Cannibal Man Arrested For Killing And Eating His Wife

The ‘Cannibal of Puebla’, a Mexican man accused of killing his wife, eating her brain in tacos, and using her skull as an ashtray, has been apprehended in Mexico.

On July 2, police arrived and arrested Alvaro, a 32-year-old suspect, at the couple’s Puebla residence.

The cannibal is charged with killing his wife, a mother of five, on June 29 while impaired by an illegal drug.

He allegedly admitted to officers that the devil and Santa Muerte (Our Lady of Holy Death) had given him orders to perform the crime during questioning.

After the murder, Alvaro is accused of dismembering the victim Maria Montserrat Animas Montiel and packing her body parts in plastic bags.

He allegedly dumped some of them into a ravine behind the house while keeping the rest inside.

According to people close to the investigation, he admitted to consuming a portion of his wife’s brain in tacos and using a portion of her smashed skull as an ashtray.

The Cannibal allegedly called one of his stepdaughters two days after the murder to confess his crime.

The victim’s mother, Maria Alicia Montiel Serran, told local media: “He told one of her daughters to come and collect her mum because ‘I already killed her and put her in bags.’

Grieving Alvaro dismembered the 38-year-old victim’s body “with a machete, a chisel, and a hammer,” Maria Alicia continued. In her subsequent statement, she said, “I called him crying, asking why he did that to her if she wasn’t a bad person.”

According to Maria Alicia, the suspect confessed: “I killed her, I cut her into pieces, and I threw her into the ravine in bags.”

She added that he claimed: “She didn’t suffer.”

A little over a year ago, Maria Montserrat wed Alvaro. Her five daughters ranged in age from 12 to 23. According to their grandmother, the couple’s younger children were subjected to violence and sexual harassment by Alvaro when they were living with them.

Maria Alicia said: “He would spy on them while they showered, and my daughter, well, you know that out of love, she always sided with him.”

According to the victim’s relatives, Alvaro, a builder, was a drug and alcohol addict who was frequently abusive towards his wife.

According to the family, the pair frequently wrote on social media about their devotion to Santa Muerte. The police allegedly discovered a black magic altar at their home.

Maria Alicia said: “Drugs, he used them, and he snorted cocaine and everything. Well, I think he had mental problems because to do something like that.

“He adored the one down below, well, I know because she had Santa Muerte tattooed on one of her colourful legs.”

The authorities are still looking for some of the victim’s remains, which also need to be DNA-tested, so the family has not yet been permitted to bury Maria Montserrat.

Her mother demanded: “Give her to me so that I can bury her and give her a proper send-off.

“That’s what I want, and don’t let him go free because I believe no mother would want her daughter to be sent to her in pieces. I demand justice.”

The case is being investigated by the Puebla Prosecutor’s Office.
