CBN Deadline: Supreme Court Ruling Saved Nigerians From Evil – Fani Kayode

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani Kayode has welcomed the Supreme Court’s ruling against the CBN for using old naira notes.

The Supreme Court ruling nullified his February 10th deadline for the Central Bank of Nigeria as the last day the banknotes will be accepted.

A seven-member committee, led by Judge John Okoro, unanimously ordered the banknotes to remain in circulation after Friday.

In Fani-Kayode’s statement, the Supreme Court was praised for showing “amazing insight and sensitivity” on the issue.

He said the judge had proven that the court was the last hope of the common man “when faced with abusive and brutal politics and the tyranny of insane officials.” The former adviser to the president also expressed gratitude to the All Progressive Council, APC, Chiefs, Yahya Bello, Nasir El-Rufay and Governor Bello Matawale.

The state governments of Kogi, Kaduna and Zamfara sued the federal government on Tuesday.

Fani-Kayode said history and posterity will reward Nigerians for receiving the verdict that saved them from “the most complex and greatest evil”.

He called this deadline “the darkest conspiracy” ever hatched against democracy, forced upon the citizens by “a small group of evil technocrats and saboteurs working for greater power.” explained that

APC 2023 campaign leaders said they now have a chance to change the narrative and remove the immense suffering that has recently been inflicted on Nigerians. Juan Kayode added that policies aimed at “causing pain to people, destroying the future and destroying democracy” were declared illegal.
