For Nigeria’s forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches and an international friendly against Russia, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has revealed two distinct squads.
Nigeria will play Madagascar on September 25 and Guinea-Bissau four days later on September 29, according to the selections announced by the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday. On October 6, the team will play an international friendly against Russia.
Chelle called up goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, and Arthur Okonkwo for the two AFCON qualifiers.
While Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Raphael Onyedika make up the midfield, Bruno Onyemaechi, Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina, and Bright Osayi-Samuel are the defensive options.
Victor Osimhen leads the attacking options alongside Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon and Tolu Arokodare.
However, Chelle has made several changes to the team for the match against Russia, including adding Samuel James and Chibuzor Atata to Nwabali’s goalkeeping options.
Along with other roster adjustments, Kelechi Iheanacho and Popoola Abdulrasaq have been called up for the October 6 friendly.
