Chelsea To ‘Trigger Victor Osimhen’s £111m Release Clause’

According to reports, Chelsea plans to take advantage of the €130 million (£111 million) release clause in Victor Osimhen’s Napoli contract in order to capture the striker during the summer transfer window.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti claims that Chelsea intends to expedite Osimhen’s process.

Galetti states that Mauricio Pochettino’s team has already committed to paying the entire €130 million (£111 million) release clause; however, the two teams still need to work out a payment plan.

The 25-year-old striker for the Super Eagles helped lead Napoli to victory in the previous season with 26 goals in Serie A.

He re-signed with Napoli in December of last year, extending his deal until June 2026, although he is expected to leave the Italian champions in the summer transfer window.

“This was already known since this summer, our negotiations [over the new contract] were friendly, otherwise it would not have been so long,” Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis told reporters at the end of last month.

“We knew he would go to Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club.”

Osimhen has also been mentioned by Paris Saint-Germain as a potential Kylian Mbappe replacement. Mbappe has informed the team that he would be joining Real Madrid this summer on a free transfer.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
