Chidimma Adetshina, a model from South Africa, has accepted an offer to compete in the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria competition.
After receiving racist taunts from certain South Africans, Miss Chidimma Adetshina withdrew from the beauty pageant.
Chidimma accepted the offer made to her by Silverbird TV creator Ben Bruce on his X handle on Wednesday, during the height of the racist backlash from South African supporters.
She said, “Hello everyone, my name is Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, and I cannot think of this video without expressing my gratitude to the incredible people who have shown me so much love and so much support.
“Now I have received an invitation from the Silver Bird Group, who are the organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria Beauty Pageant. And I say this is a great excitement because I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 All Beauty Pageant.
“Now I understand the expectations and responsibilities that come with this title, and I am so excited to walk on this journey. And I just want to say thank you so much for this opportunity, and I am looking forward to participating in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant, Miss Universe Nigeria.”
Discrimination is a disease and tolerance is the only cure. We should learn to accept people whether they are citizens or not.
