Chinese Food Blogger Lands In Trouble After Eating Great White Shark

A young female food blogger from China is under the police investigation for cooking and eating up a Great White Shark.

The blogger was identified as Tizi when her video surfaced on the internet. The matter has been taken very seriously as the creature which was prepared as a cuisine belonged to the category of protected species.

Tizi is reported to have over 7.8 million followers on the Chinese streaming channel; Douyin. In the video shared on the site, the woman could be seen purchasing the two-meter-long shark at a seafood shop in Nanchong and later preparing a meal out of it.

The video has been removed since the issue raised concerns, according to South China Morning Post. However, following a backlash online, the local police have started an investigation into the incident.

Tizi maintains that she obtained the fish “legally” and said that she had sought legal representation

According to designing buildings, the term ‘protected species’ refers to species that are protected by legislation. The Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act make it an offense to intentionally, or recklessly kill, injure, or take a protected species, or damage, destroy or obstruct access to structures or places used by protected species for shelter, breeding or protection.

She’s known for her videos where she eats rare, unusual and sometimes endangered animals.

In her latest video, Tizi covers the roasted tail of the young “shark” in pepper before picking it up in her hands and tucking into it.

“It may look vicious, but it’s meat is truly super tender,” she says.

According to a caption on the video, the great white shark was “bred in captivity,” but many commenters disputed that it was possible to keep a great white in a tank.

She told local Sichuan news site Red Star News that people who criticised her video were “talking nonsense”.

One Weibo user said: “I’ve seen her videos before. They were outrageous. She also ate a crocodile and a golden giant salamander … It was extremely disturbing.”

“She literally eats anything to grab eyeballs. I was horrified when seeing her eat a crocodile tail once,” another added.
