The historic coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla was witnessed by thousands of people in London.

The coronation of Charles III and Camilla as rulers of the United Kingdom and 14 Commonwealth states took place on Saturday at Westminster Abbey.
It was the first coronation of a king since 1937 and the first in Britain in nearly 70 years.
Thousands of people lined the path to see the coronation procession, and the ceremony was attended by foreign leaders, dignitaries, and other royal families.
While this was happening, anti-monarchy demonstrators gathered in London, Glasgow, Scotland, and Cardiff, Wales, holding signs and flags that read, “Abolish the Monarchy,” and “Not my King.”
52 persons were reportedly detained by London police on suspicion of organizing “disruption.”
Meanwhile several leaders have offered their words of congratulation to Charles III.
