Court Sentence Transgender Rapist To Eight Years In Prison

In Scotland, a transs*xual rapist who committed two rapes while still a man has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, Isla Bryson was given an eight-year prison term plus a further three years on probation.

Bryson was found guilty last month of raping two women, one in Clydebank in 2016 and the other in Glasgow’s Drumchapel in 2019 while posing as Adam Graham.

Prosecutors claimed that the 31-year-old rapist, who is from Clydebank near Glasgow, met both victims online and had “preyed” on weak women.

Although Bryson was initially imprisoned in an all-female prison and the rapist was then transferred to the male estate, the case caused outrage.

The Scottish Prison Service decided to stop moving any transsexual inmates with a history of violence against women into the female estate, and Scottish Justice Secretary Keith Brown requested an urgent examination of the situation.

In court for the first time as Adam Graham in 2019, the 31-year-old was later identified in court documents as Isla Annie Bryson, formerly known as Adam Graham, around the time of the decision to transition.

Bryson was going through the dissolution of a brief, unhappy marriage when she went to stay with the first victim at her mother’s house in Clydebank in 2016. The High Court in Glasgow heard this information during the trial.

The victim (30) testified on pre-recorded video, claiming that she was raped for 30mins.

“All I said was ‘no’ over and over and over again. At the time I was so scared. Sick to the stomach. I just didn’t know what was going on,” she said.

The second victim spoke in court via live video link, claiming that Bryson persisted in having intercourse with her despite her requests for him to stop.

According to testimony given in court, Bryson entered the victim’s body with “her p*nis” before being forced to stop because he was “crushing” the victim.

In contrast, according to the victim’s police report, Bryson instructed her to “remain there” because “he (Bryson) wasn’t through.”

“I said to stop but he (Bryson) just kept going,” the victim claimed in court, “and that’s when I just closed my eyes and I’m doing what he wanted.”

Bryson testified during the trial that both ladies gave their consent for having intercourse. He claimed that despite identifying as transgender at the age of four, he did not decide to transition until he was 29 years old.

Bryson is currently taking hormones and planning surgery to complete his gender transformation, the court was informed.
