Crime: At Least 1 Dead, 1 Wounded After Shooting At High School Basketball Game

A shootout at a high school boys’ basketball game in Tennessee on Tuesday night has left at least one person dead and another critically wounded, according to reports.

The shooting took place at Humboldt High School in Humboldt, about 88 miles northeast of Memphis. In the lobby of the school’s gymnasium.

The report said the seriously injured man was taken to a Memphis hospital for treatment.

School district officials said the shooting was caused by a dispute between two adults. He said no student was involved, WMC reported,

The officers secured the area and immediately started efforts to nab the suspect. As reported by the Jackson Sun of Jackson, Tennessee. The report said the Gibson County Sheriff’s representative was working with Humboldt police.

According to the report, the Humboldt team was playing against the team of North Side High School.

The Sun reported that Humboldt City Schools canceled all classes and school activities scheduled for Wednesday In response to the incident.
