According to a fresh report in Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick have a ‘completely fractured’ relationship because the forward believes the manager does not understand him.
Following the resignation of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the German manager was called in to turn around the club’s season. Manchester United, on the other hand, is struggling to produce the results they want, and tensions in the dressing room are thought to be rising.
According to Spanish source AS, Rangnick does not have the backing of the squad’s big dogs particularly the 37-year-old Portugal international.
The player’s and manager’s relationship is now reported to be utterly shattered.
Ralf Rangnick, according to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, lacks the skills to manage Manchester United and is out of his depth at Old Trafford. Rangnick is reportedly said to have enraged Ronaldo even more last Friday when he accused the forward of not putting up enough effort in front of the goal.
Ronaldo, who is the club’s top scorer this season, has not scored in the last five league games, and Rangnick feels dissatisfied with his output.
This season, the 37-year-old has not hesitated to express his displeasure, with his most recent outburst coming at United’s game against Burnley last week.
In midweek, Rangnick benched Ronaldo in favor of Edinson Cavani, but the Portugal international came on as a second-half replacement at Turf Moor.
