Cute Abiola Opens Up On Struggles Of Balancing Navy Life And Content Creation

According to Nigerian comedian Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly known as Cute Abiola has shared his experiences juggling his career in the Nigerian Navy with content creation, stating that he used to work six days a week and still come up with skits.

He related an incident in which he was arrested in November 2021 for violating Nigerian Navy social media rules. After being released, he was given a one-month assignment to oversee gutter cleaning in the Navy barracks.

In order to pursue a career in entertainment, he later quit the Navy. In a recent HipTV interview, Cute Abiola emphasized that his time in the navy was the most crucial period of his life and said he had experienced many more difficult things than his current circumstances.

He said, “I’ve done a lot of things that were tougher than my current situation. I used to be in the Nigerian navy.

“That time was the most critical part of my life, and I was still able to achieve shooting content and being in the navy. That was very, very hard.

“I used to be at work from Mondays to Saturdays most times, and all my contents still used to be out there. In a week, I used to post twice or three times.

“I’m a very dedicated person because I know that I’m supposed to meet a target in my revenue. I have a target for myself, and I used that to motivate myself to make more than I made the previous month.

“I was overwhelmed with regard to the approval of my exit from the Navy by the chief of naval staff so as for me to have enough time to passionately pursue my dreams.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
