Dad Allegedly Impregnates His 13-year-Old Daughter

According to reports, a 42-year-old Bethal man s*xually assaulted his 13-year-old biological daughter.

The 42-year-old is scheduled to appear back in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Friday and is anticipated to file a formal bail application.

“His court appearance came after his arrest by the family violence, child protection, and sxual offences unit. It is further alleged that the victim was sxually victimized by the suspect during September 2023,” said Mdluli.

“Reports indicate that on January 4, it was discovered that the girl is pregnant. Thereafter, the suspect apparently threatened to kill the victim if she revealed to anyone about what had happened between them.”

The 42-year-old male is also said to have promised the underage girl money in exchange for her to keep the incident a secret.

“Later that day, the stepmother approached the victim to ask her about the pregnancy and that is when she broke her silence and (revealed that) her father is the suspect,” said Mdhluli.

“The brave stepmother reportedly informed the girl’s biological mother, and then the matter was eventually reported to the police. The case was assigned to the FCS unit which conducted the investigation.”

The rape suspect was then arrested and charged with rape on Monday last week.

Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela; the provincial police commissioner for Mpumalanga, has praised the bravery of the mother for coming out to report the mistreatment of her daughter who was in danger. She said that more parents who don’t turn a blind eye were needed in South Africa.

“We need mothers that will blow the whistle and not tolerate such types of crime in the name of love at the expense of innocent children,” said Manamela.

A 40-year-old Zimbabwean rapist was given a life sentence by the Johannesburg-based Alexandra Magistrate’s Court last year after he entered a guilty plea to raping his 17-year-old biological daughter.

The teenage girl was initially raped by her father, whose identity is suppressed to protect the victim, in May 2022, and the experience persisted throughout 2023.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokeswoman for Gauteng, Phindi Mjonondwane, stated at the time that the father had phoned his daughter, who was living in Zimbabwe, to come to South Africa to help her aunt, who had just given birth.

Forcefully having canal knowledge of someone is a terrible offense.
