Dangote Refinery Reduces Fuel Price, Again

Dangote Refinery has once more lowered the price of fuel.

This recent price decrease follows a reduction in the fuel landing cost to N774.82 per litre, which is less than Dangote Refinery’s N825 ex-depot rates.

However, in contrast to the price reduction on February 26, 2025, Dangote Refinery did not formally declare this new price cut.

The change occurs amidst the continuing pricing conflict between the NNPC and Dangote, two key competitors in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry.

Chinedu Ukadike, the spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, verified the situation.

“It is true. There is speculation that the price of imported products is now lower. That is the reason for the price war.

“It is the beauty of deregulation. Dangote has millions of litres and would not want any external force to take its market share. So it would have forced the price reduction,” he stated.

Meanwhile, it remains uncertain whether Dangote’s most recent petrol price drop will result in lower retail prices at its filling stations, such as MRS, which currently offers fuel at N860 per litre in Lagos and N880 in Abuja.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
