Dangote Refinery Sold Petrol To Us At N898 Per Litre – NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reported that it purchased petroleum from Dangote Refinery at a price of N898 per litre.

NNPCL said it despatched approximately 300 trucks to the 650,000-barrel-per-day capacity refinery in Lagos on Saturday, September 14, with loading operations beginning today, Sunday.

The majority of Nigerians had hoped that the addition of Dangote refineries to the equation would result in cheaper petrol prices because they are local refineries.

However, Olufemi Soneye, spokesperson for the NNPCL, disclosed on Sunday that the business purchased the fuel at N898 per litre, contrary to allegations that it cost N760.

“We successfully loaded PMS at the Dangote Refinery today. The claim that we purchased it at N760 per litre is incorrect. For this initial loading, the price from the refinery was N898 per litre,” he said.

Dangote Group, owned by Aliko Dangote, announced that it had begun loading petroleum in a post on its X account, which included photos and videos of loaded trucks leaving the facility.

“HAPPENING NOW: First set of trucks set for loading of PMS at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery,” it said in the post.

Following an agreement on pricing and supply terms, Zacch Adedeji, the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service and a member of the Presidential Committee on the Sale of Crude Oil and Refined Products, had earlier announced that petrol from the Dangote Refinery in Lagos would start to be supplied on 15 September.

Adedeji stated that other marketers would purchase fuel from the national oil firm, with the NNPCL acting as the exclusive off-taker from the Dangote Refinery.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
