“Doing Business In Nigeria Is Easier Under My Administration” – President Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria has stated that doing business in the country is easier now than it was previously.

The president made his claims at Iftar with representatives of the business community and the leadership of political parties in Abuja on Tuesday night, April 26, according to a statement published by President Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

He said that his government had “exceedingly well” improved Nigeria’s business climate. He also requested that the corporate sector contributes to the government’s efforts to reduce poverty and create jobs for young people. Nigeria was placed 131 in the World Bank’s ease of doing business rating in 2020. The country rose 15 spots from its previous ranking of 146.

The president said, ‘‘No administration has done as much as we have done in the creation of a climate best suited for business, big and small, to thrive. The business index that is globally recognized has acknowledged that the ease with which business is carried out in the country has never been better than it is today. We will continue to make it better.

“We will equally continue to count on the support of the private sector to improve economic growth and create new job opportunities for our teeming population.

“Employment is critical to stability and prosperity of our country. Government and the private sector, working together, have an opportunity to transform the lives of people in ways that were hard to imagine in the past.”
