Donald Trump Compares Himself To Nelson Mandela

Donald Trump has drawn comparisons between himself and Nelson Mandela, the former president of South Africa, insisting that he is not afraid of going to jail.

On Monday night, October 23, the former US president made the remarks while visiting New Hampshire as part of his campaign. He also promised to erect an Iron Dome missile defence shield over the United States in the manner of Israel and claimed to have dreams about hitting Joe Biden in the face.

Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years because he opposed South Africa’s long-standing apartheid system. He became president in 1990, ushering the country into a new era following his release from prison.

Three years later, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in “peacefully terminating the apartheid regime and laying the groundwork for a new democratic South Africa.”

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential frontrunner for 2024, spoke for 100 minutes to supporters in New Hampshire, claiming that the 91 criminal charges he is facing are part of a ‘fascist’ witch hunt led by Biden’s White House.

“If you want to challenge the result of an election, they hound you,’ he said after filing to be on the state’s GOP primary ballot.

“But we don’t get scared — we don’t get scared. I’ll tell you what, I don’t mind being Nelson Mandela because I’m doing it for a reason.

“We’ve got to save our country from these fascists, these lunatics that we’re dealing with. They’re horrible people and they’re destroying our country.”

The allegations against Trump include inflating his wealth, misrepresenting hush money payments to women during his 2016 campaign, attempting to illegally overturn his loss in the 2020 election, and hoarding classified documents at his Florida Mar-a-Lago club. He is also facing four criminal indictments in addition to civil trials.

The politician from the Republican party also mentioned a time when Biden had threatened to beat the hell out of him if they were both in high school, taking him “behind the gym.”

“I dream of that. You know what I’d do with him?’ Trump asked the crowd as he threw a couple of light punches in the air while making sound effects.

“I’d hit him right in that fake nose. He’d have plastic lying all over the floor.”
