With a 3-1 victory over the Cranes of Uganda at the Stade Foot Fès, the Super Eagles of Nigeria maintained their excellent start at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, leading Group C with three straight victories.
The Eagles defeated Tanzania and Tunisia prior to this match, making them the first side to win every group match in the 2025 AFCON.
Nigeria seized the lead in the 28th minute thanks to a goal from striker Paul Onuachu, who was given his first start of the competition.
Raphael Onyedika scored twice in the second half to give Nigeria a 3-0 lead, but Rogers Mato of Uganda cut it short in the 75th. The Eagles and Chelle’s men have advanced to the sixteen round.
