Edo Train Attack: Two More Victims Rescued

Two victims of the train attack in Edo state’s Igueben district have been rescued, the state government said on Friday.

About 31 people were kidnapped by armed men at a railway station in the province’s Igueben district. Some have now been released, but the Edo government said two other of his abductees had regained their freedom.

National Communications and Guidance Commissioner Chris Nehihkare said at a briefing in Benin City that one of the rescued victims was Igueben Customs Court President Precious Aigbonoga.

However, the police officer’s DSP, Michael Adams, died during a rescue operation. The victim was abducted on Saturday while waiting to catch a train from Igueben railway station to Warri in the nearby Delta state.
