Eid-el-Maulud: Bauchi Governor Expresses Sympathy For Flood Victims And Begs For Peace

Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi, has urged people to uphold peace and tranquility in the state despite differences in politics, religion, and ethnicity as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Maulud in 2024.

Ahead of the celebration tomorrow, the governor made the request in a message of goodwill sent by Mukhtar Gidado, his special assistant on media and publicity. The governor also expressed sympathy to the victims of the recent flood disasters that have affected several regions of the nation, especially Borno state.

Governor Mohammed thanked Allah, according to the statement, for giving the people the chance to observe the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birth anniversary.

“As a responsive government, we are deeply concerned about the current economic hardship that is making life difficult for Nigerians,” the governor said.

Mohammed urged citizens to pray for divine intervention to alleviate the economic challenges. 

Governor Mohammed reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, noting that his administration, in collaboration with security agencies, would continue to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. 

He warned that any individual or group attempting to disrupt peace would be dealt with according to the law.

The governor concluded his message by extending warm wishes to the people of Bauchi State for a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Maulud celebration, praying for continued guidance and protection from Allah.
