Elon Musk Breaks Twitter Silence After Nine Days

Elon Musk has broken his silence on Twitter after nine days. The Tesla billionaire reappeared on the social media app for the first time since June 21 on Friday evening, posting a tribute to a YouTuber who died of cancer, of his four sons. A photo with Pope Francis with the audience and a return on his 40th birthday weekend.

Musk tweeted a tribute to the late YouTuber that read: “Popular Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade with 12 Billion subscribers recently passed away at the age of 23 due to cancer, and this made [me] realize that cancer is [an] absurd piece of literal garbage and death, but also try to live your best life with people you know. They could die the following day, and you would regret not doing things with them.”

He also tweeted: “Feeling…maybe…a little bored?”

The entrepreneur also posted a photo of Pope with himself, his sons Griffin, 18, and Triplets, Kai, Damien and Saks Musk, who are all 16.

Mr Musk also shared a photo of himself in a “sad suit” that he wore last time he visited Venice with his ex-wife Tallulah Riley.

Mr Musk’s last tweet on June 21 was a response to a post between SpaceX and the FCC about the fight over Starlink, the former space internet program.

A day later, on June 22, Mr Musk liked several posts. Some of them were about his attempt to take over social media app which he is attempting to buy for $44bn, and others were completely unrelated.

But since that day, exactly a week ago, Mr. Musk hasn’t posted on the forum at all. He made no announcement about a possible departure, and did not explain the silence.

He remained silent even as he crossed the milestone of 100 million followers, which was shared with very few members of the platform.

Mr Musk is one of Twitter’s most high-profile users, and an unusually prolific poster among celebrities. Before his vague silence, he had posted at least once a day for over a month.
