Enugu Government Lifts Ban On Gaming Licence Renewal

The Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission has declared that it is removing limitations on licence renewals for gaming operators as part of extensive reforms aimed at bolstering the sector and encouraging responsible gaming habits.

The commission’s Executive Secretary, Arinze Arum, revealed this development in a statement released by the commission’s spokesperson, Nwanneka Udeh.

Mr. Arum explained that the commission has rolled out a new technology-focused platform intended to simplify the renewal procedure and other services, guaranteeing improved efficiency and adherence to regulations.

“With the lifting of restrictions on licence renewals, gaming operators can now seamlessly update their licences through the newly introduced Enugu State Gaming Regulatory Platform. This digital solution ensures faster approvals, enhanced compliance monitoring, and a secure licensing process.”

As part of its regulatory overhaul, the commission has established gaming offices throughout all 17 local government areas of Enugu State. Furthermore, it has recruited gaming inspectors to strengthen compliance oversight and launched an official Gaming Approval Signage for operators with valid licences.

“We also engaged in strict enforcement of permanent structures for gaming outlets to phase out makeshift stands,” Mr. Arum added.
The commission also introduced forthcoming programs, such as the Rangers FC Dream Big Raffle and Good Cause Projects, which are slated to kick off in the months ahead.

Mr. Arum went on to clarify that the Enugu State Gaming Regulatory Platform, created in partnership with Goflux Services Limited, will assist in automating compliance supervision and improving revenue gathering through digital payment methods.

“This is a game-changer for the industry, as we are committed to leveraging technology to improve regulatory efficiency, increase revenue, and ensure fairness in gaming operations. Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission, therefore, urged all gaming operators to take advantage of the seamless online licence renewal process and adhere strictly to the new regulatory guidelines,” Mr. Arum said.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
